Walking into the grocery store and seeing fresh vegetables, marbled cuts of meat and beautiful wedges of cheese is an incredible experience for me. There’s so much possibility and inspiration in those aisles. There’s also the bliss of going through magazines, cookbooks and websites, looking for that recipe that will fill my groceries with a special delicious magic. Not to be forgotten is the wonderfully, methodical order of chopping, slicing, seasoning, stirring, and cooking. And finally there’s the actual eating. Breathing in the smells wafting from the kitchen and sitting down with friends and family to not just eat, but also enjoy.
I crave that process of making the perfect meal. And I spend the majority of my days going through it in my head, itching to go to the store or to step into the kitchen cook.
My other passion in life is writing. While it makes sense to combine these two loves into the Everyday Epicurean, I’m not one to ever put myself out there without prodding. Luckily for me, my boss discovered that thoughts of hot blueberry pie and autumnal sausage soups are a serious distraction and had me put them to use.
The Everyday Epicurean is a snapshot of my adventures in the kitchen and my taste buds’ explorations through the gold mind of culinary inspiration that is New Orleans.
