I love the waterproof backing and I make sure I open it up to dry when I get home. The size is great for a family or just for two to stretch out and relax. We bought 2 of these blankets. One to keep in each car. The picnic blanket is wonderful! It is large, attractive, kept us from the damp ground and was so easy to refold to the original size! I have not laundered it yet so I can't rate it on what happens to it if laundered. Because it was damp on the downside, after returning home, I just laid it out to dry...didn't want to store it damp. It dried quickly and it is now stored and ready for the next picnic!
