This truck tent is designed so you can stand up while getting dressed inside - wow. The zipper pulls are glow in the dark so that you can easily find them with the flash light in the middle of the night. Small stuff sacks are CampRight's pet peeve. Everyone knows that it is nearly impossible to fold and roll up a tent to the same size that it was out of the box. Now, you don't have to worry about it. The stuff sack that comes with this truck tent is extra large - fold up the tent any way you please and have room to spare. CampRight has truly thought of everything.

We used this tent with our 2006 GMC Sierra and it fit perfectly! We practiced setting it up once at home in the driveway before we actually went camping. I'm glad we did as the second time at the campsite it went much smoother. The instructions are very good and permanently sown into the roomy stow bag. I'd recommend the additional purchase of a pickup bed mattress as the bed of the pickup can get really cold beneath your sleeping bag. We also took a step stool for getting in and out easily.

The tent was a wonderful purchase! It was everything it claimed to be, however, it was discolored when we first put it up (yellow stains along the top) and it continued to discolor for the 3 days we used it. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm not looking forward to further discoloration as time moves on. Still, it kept the rain and snow off, was nice and roomy, and easy to set up.

The tent worked well. It is very easy to set up and kept us dry in a slight rain shower.

This is a very good tent for the money. It is easy to set up after the first time. It stayed dry in a heavy rainfall.

Great product, Great service.

I have never set up a tent before, but I set up the camp-right truck tent by myself in about an hour. It withstood strong winds at the beach, and the skylight roof made a wonderful evening of watching the stars. I enjoyed camping off of the ground, but don't forget to make sure your truck is level. Luckily, my husband had a level in his tool box, but it was still pretty difficult to make the truck level. Once the truck was level we both had a great nights sleep.

I'm back to review for the 2nd time after an extended period of camping (3 weeks). I reviewed this tent (6.5' full size standard bed truck tent) after only camping for a few days and now I have a more thorough account of how it handled in the summer heat and rain.
I’ll begin by (again) saying that the assembly process went much better the 2nd time. I put it together myself (small girl under 105lbs). The directions don’t tell you about sticking the ends of the poles into the thick nylon sleeves at each end of the cloth tubes. The 1st end of each pole was a snap to put into the sleeve, but the other end I had a time trying to bend the pole up enough to maneuver it with one hand while pinching open the sleeve with the other hand.
I wanted to test out the tent in the rain before I went camping, so left it assembled on my truck on a night I knew it would rain. I found out that the sleeve that is useful for passing things to and from the cab into the tent … well, it acts like a funnel for water if you leave it hanging inside the tent. It is best to tuck it outside and point it downward in the space between the cab and the truck bed. While I was camping I found that it is best to spray bug repellent around the outside of that sleeve as well as the tailgate opening.
I left the rain flap on the whole time just for privacy sake. I had access to an electrical outlet, so was able to use a fan to keep cool – and that was a lifesaver! I suppose there are battery powered fans out there, but don’t think it would have been economical to have to keep buying batteries. I kept the fan on all the time, except for a few nights it got a bit cool.
While I was camping it rained about half the nights I was out there … the only water that got into the truck bed was at the very end of the tailgate where the rain cover didn’t quite go down far enough. If I had repositioned it and pulled the cover down I think it wouldn’t have let water in, but I was content to put a towel across the tailgate to soak up what little water came in. The rain cover itself didn’t leak at all. It does sound like a big bag of jiffy pop when inside while raining, but ear buds + music helped to drown it out mostly. The tent didn’t rock very much at all even though it did get windy. That surprised me. It was well secured.
The pockets on all 4 corners were a nice touch, and came in handy. I kept clean rags, paper towels, books, hand lotion, rubbing alcohol, and hand sanitizer in them.
I highly recommend this tent on short or long camping trips. It is not difficult to just unhook the 4 corners of the tent and set it aside for a few hours if you need to drive your truck in town for something … then hook the 4 corners of the tent back on when ya get back. I did that a few times and it wasn’t much trouble at all by myself.

I just tried out the Camp-Right tent last night and was very impressed. At first I was skeptical of the easy setup but after a few tries I had no problem at all. It fits right back in the back when I'm done. I'm very pleased that I purchased this.

After the first use of the truck tent (done in the dark) set up was much easier. I suspect that set up would be easier yet if a second person helped. The tent offers much more space than a typical dome tent. I especially appreciated the extra height. I am very satisfied with this product.

I love it and I've used it 3 times since I bought it 2 months ago! It takes me 15-20 min to set up and is easy to take down and store in its bag. First time I camped with it a thunderstorm blew in and I didn't get a drop of water in the bed of my truck. It has enough room for me to stand in. I've used the clip at the top to hang a flashlight for lighting inside. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tent for the bed of their truck!

The camp-right full size standard truck tent (6.5') is working out really well so far. I had a little trouble putting it together by myself (I'm a small girl). I put it together 2 weeks before my camping trip so I wouldn't have to learn out on the campsite. I left it put together for a few days (stashed it away in my trailer) so the tent fabric would stretch a little and it helped because the 2nd time I put it together (at the campsite) it was much easier to get the poles in the sleeves. They don't tell you that in the directions. The poles rest in the thick nylon-ish pocket at the end of each pole tunnel. If you squeeze the pocket with one hand and bend the pole up a bit, I was just able to get the pole to slide into it.
I haven't yet experienced rain but I will this week. I'm out here for 3 weeks so will come back and give a more thorough review when I am back home, since I have only been using it for 3 days so far (10jun09). It does keep the bugs out pretty well and I find keeping a citronella candle sitting in the tent when I'm gone hiking (unlit) it also wards off bugs.
It is very roomy for me, but again I am a small person but I think it would be roomy for a larger man if he doesn't want to have a lot of other stuff in the truck bed with him. I have a Nissan Frontier (the small size before they made a mid-size one) my cooler, 1 Rubbermaid tub, 2 backpacks, and a water jug fit snugly around my bed which is about 36" x 60". I also use a small battery powered fan on the hook provided on the tent at the top center. The light colored rain cover helps to keep it a bit cooler too.

I am pleased overall, although the 8 hooks that attach to the pickup bed need to be bigger for anyone with a spray liner, and they could have been consolidated into 4 for an easier installation.

It was a nice option to keep out of the weather and held up to the wind better then ground tents. The only issue was one of the rubber cords that holds the tent poles together broke making it a little harder to set up.

Brian C. from Washington
This is a great idea for camping.
I've only had one problem with this tent which involved the stitching, one rod housing was stitched backwards making it impossible to use the tent rod.
Had to restitch and now its fine.

Bruce B. from Los Alamos, NM
It is a very nice truck tent. The rain fly works excellent and no water got into the truck bed during a major rain storm.
