I bought the Blyton Picnic Tin as a gift but fell in love with it and had to think twice before letting it go. Although it's small-- best for tea time, dessert, petit dejuener-- its charm sets it apart. The vintage style embroidered linens, scalloped blue dishes and red enameled tin 'basket' make a cheery, somehow contemporary statement. It's perfect for the non-traditionalist or anyone looking for a non-wicker option. In fact, because it's small and comes with tea mugs & thermos instead of wine glasses, it's best as a 2nd or alternate picnic basket. The only other drawback-- the metal handles which can be uncomfortable to hold. Pack your food separately and you've got the beginning of a picturesque picnic.
